Great Weekend in Columbus, OH!

We had such a great weekend.  We went to the Columbus Zoo with Grammy, Grandma Jean and Aunt Alycia.  Then we stayed at a great Hotel for a crazy great price ( thank you Priceline), went to Easton, ate at the Cheesecake Factory and had a really fun time.

A table for 5!

When my husband and I were dating, he used to say that 2 kids was the max because it’s easier to get a table for 4 than it is a table for 5.  Well from now on it’s definitely a table for 5.  Hopefully I don’t get as sick with this one as I did the first two, but if I do some of our schooling may be taking a break for a few months.

So happy it’s FALL!

We’ve decided to change our background to reflect our love of fall. We like to change things up with the seasons, so you will probably see a change for winter too. Can’t wait to post lots of fun fall photos. Love you guys.

My Little Golden Book of Manners

100_4434

I lOVE this book.  I like to use it like a text book for school.  It talks about being clean, kind, how to great guests, how to act when you are visiting, how to act at the table, and lots of other manners.  Hopefully some of this stuff will sink in.  Soon I’m going to be planning some field trips just so that we can practice some of these manners.  For example a ride on the bus, hopefully we can give up our seats!

Monster Eater Notebook

The kids and I made some Monster Eaters today!  I read about these cute little notebooks on one of my favorite blogs ( they called it something a little different)  and now I can’t find it again, it had step by step instructions.  As soon as I find the original post I’ll put a link on my blog.  Anyway the idea is that you pull these out at night and let the kids draw a picture of whatever they are afraid of.  You shut the notebook up and your notebook monster eats it and its gone forever.

This week at Adams Academy

100_4424

We are continuing our letter F week. Farm is our theme this week, and our objectives are the same. Last week didn’t quite go as planned. We are adding three new learning techniques this week!

  • Alphabet Chant – goes something like : A aaaaaaaa aaaaapple, B bbbbbb bbbball…
  • Flash Cards – Were starting our Dolch words!
  • Word Notebook – just a homemade workbook to help us learn new words.

I promise to start taking more pictures for the family, I have got to remember to take my camera with me, or get a smaller one for my purse.
